The work developed by Invat.tur is framed by the its strategic priorities:

1. Market intelligence
The generation of knowledge about the tourist market, both quantitative and qualitative, represents the basis for making strategic decisions in different aspects of destination and tourist business management. In this respect, the focus on market intelligence guarantees the suitability of actions carried out and boosts the competitiveness of the tourist sector in the Region of Valencia.
In addition to specific studies, the area of market intelligence is developed through Market Tracking Workshops.
The strategic priority of market intelligence encompasses the following areas of action:
- Improved knowledge of markets and the tourist context: forecast and outlook.
- Optimisation of communication actions.
- Development of co-marketing actions.
- Optimisation of the use of information and communication technologies in tourist promotion and distribution.
- Positioning of the Region of Valencia’s tourist brands.
- Analysis of the adaptation of successful strategies to the Region of Valencia’s tourist offer: benchmarking.
2. Technology tracking
Invat.tur aims to monitor technological evolution through a system of ongoing tracking in order to transfer information to the sector, adapt to new technologies and improve competitivness through the application of tools and processes of innovation.
3. Support for R&D/Innovation
The commitment to innovation and improving the competitiveness of the Region of Valencia’s tourist sector is promoted by Invat.tur through various areas of action focusing on the support and promotion of R&D and Innovation:
- Technical assistance for companies, institutions and entrepreneurs.
- Fostering cooperation between companies in the area of R&D/Innovation.
- Research grants.
- Specialist training in R&D/Innovation
4. R&D/Innovation Projects
Invat.tur develops R&D/Innovation projects independently and in collaboration with other research centres. The projects currently underway include the “Open Apps – Invat.tur. Comprehensive Internet distribution system for the Region of Valencia’s tourist offer” and the “Region of Valencia’s Global Strategic Tourism Plan (2010 – 2020)”.
5. Communication, cooperation and transfer of results
The commitment of Invat.tur to the tourist sector materialises through ongoing cooperation in all its actions, with a view to offering information to facilitate the detection of needs, the achievement of goals and the transfer of results. For this purpose, a dynamic and interactive website has been developed, based on the advantages of the web 2.0, to guarantee close and permanent contact with all agents in the Valencian tourist sector.
Furthermore, Invat.tur develops this strategic priority area by organising congresses, seminars and workshops, creating a documentary collection specialising in R&D/Innovation in tourism and setting up technical committees, among other actions.
6. Internationalisation
The challenge of becoming a leading centre in R&D/Innovation applied to the tourist sector demands that all Invat.tur initiatives have an international scope. In this respect, Invat.tur is involved in international networks and projects that are important to the Valencian tourist sector, allowing it to export its knowledge and maximise its results.
